Re: Air Conditioning

You need to pull a vacuum at least for the initial charge. It gets rid of moisture and other contaminants in the system. It's not hard to do. At Ken's suggestion, I bought a vacuum pump from HF,...

Re: Air Conditioning

Today's compressors do not take near as much power as the older ones did. I can't tell the difference in speed when the compressor kicks in. While idling at 1,000 RPM, when the compressor kicks in,...

Re: Air Conditioning In A Cabriolet?

The Ken Davis unit utilizes Old Air components. Ken just makes it fit a Model A with no alterations.

I installed my under dash unit similar to what Dave did in Post #18. Gives the driver more leg...

Re: Air Conditioning

I have a Ken Davis unit in my pickup. This particular unit serves as a heater as well as an air conditioner. Believe it or not, both phases get used a lot here in Alaska, sometimes both in the same...

Re: pickup tail light mount

I have no clue as to why the pickup bracket has 3 bolt holes. All the ones I have seen only use 2 holes, including mine.

Looks like you have both a hot water heater and a manifold heater!

Re: 160 deg. thermostat questions

Re: FedEx Freight

Just try living in Anchorage Alaska, where both FedEx and UPS have one of their largest terminals in the US. Their prices to us here in Alaska are just way out of line compared to "the lower 48". For...

Re: How 550x19 radials look on a 29 Town Sedan

One of the ladies in our club opted for the 500R19's on her 31 Sedan (don't remember if it's 2 or 4 door). She loves them as do I with my 550R19's on my pickup. The 500's actually look small on her...

Re: Temperature Gauge

I have mine connected to the tail light circuit, so that any time any of the lights are on, it lights the gauge. (I also have the dash light connected that way as well.)

Re: Tachometer for my model A

Here's a picture of mine. The Tach is on the left, Water Temp on the right. Both gauges are Autometer, 270 degree sweep, purchased from Amazon. Gauge holder is from Berts. Oh, and they are 12 volt.

My first vehicle was a 1931 AA 280A (ambulance), considered to be a commercial vehicle. Price for commercial tags then was something over $150 yearly. I only...
