Fun projects sells a waterproof , inline fuse that works perfect. You may want to try it as it is safe and does the job nicely. I had the kind that you are referring to and had it melted to the top...

Thanks for all of the help. Everything works fine now, just a oiley switch. Now its snyders turn to help with their oil tube to keep the oil out of the switch. Jack

If you found a plug at the front of the unit, why not pump oil into the OD with a pump. Also if it shares the tranny oil as mentioned above, why is there so little oil in it to begin with? Jack
