Re: Fan Belt Tension

Did you thoroughly clean all the pulleys? Did you see if there is excessive drag in the water pump or generator? My car charges and cools with over 2" slack in the belt without squealing.

Re: Leak with rebuilt tillotson

It is always a good idea to submerge any float in hot water and look for bubbles escaping before using that float.

Re: Crankshaft in New Rebuilt Model A Engine Won't Turn

My rebuilt engine was tight also and required to be towed about a mile with the plugs out to free it enough to time it with the plugs still out. After timing I used gravity and the starter to get it...

Re: Why is it hard to find 30w oil

Non detergent oil is about the worst thing to run in any engine. Use it in your compressor. Do the engine a favor and take advantage of good lubricants.

Re: Why is it hard to find 30w oil

The theory is that multi viscosity oil is a superior product and single weight oil is unnecessary. I use 15-40 in my A.

Re: Rear main seal options - which one?

I think while the engine is being rebuilt I would add the bronze thrust that the vendors carry, A worn thrust can cause oil leakage. I Vote to keep it stock otherwise.
