Re: torquing 8ba heads with an oil filter

Part #: 32-23817-1 at Macs Auto Parts. Is a pic of what I was thinking or something similar. Used them on FE engines to retorque head bolts without removing rocker arm shafts.

Re: torquing 8ba heads with an oil filter

Cannot think of the name for them but there is a box end tool on the order of a crow foot with a tall C shaped body and square drive end on the top of the C. Will reach under rocker arms and shafts....

Re: Radio Shack Capacitive Discharge Ignition

Re: Authorized Ford Rebuilder network

There was, not sure might still be in business in Algona Iowa. They painted the rebuilt parts a avocado green. I know the mechanics at a truck shop were happy when the boss would pay the extra to get...

Re: 1955/56 Ford Sedan Rear Window Defrost

They work pretty good, not as fast as the heated glass. Had a few in full size Fords and a Maverick. Dealer add on, came with wiring harness. The switch was 2 speed and the harness contained a built...

Re: antifreeze?

They have so many kinds on the shelf I'm about ready to go back to alcohol. 4 cars in garage, 3 of them Fords and 4 different requirements for antifreeze. Then you go to buy some and they sell...

Re: T85 transmission

I believe 56 was the start of the Ford safety program, Lifeguard features. Belts, padded dash, deep dish steering wheel and visors. Might have included the door latches. Some items standard some...

Re: Radio Polarity Help Needed

Tried to use early VW 6 volt in a Ford once. Insulated it real good and blew it when antenna cable got plugged in. Forgot antenna cable coax is hooked to the car body on the mast mount.

Re: Who has one of these?

The engineers in that era must have worked long and hard hours. Would have been something to be young then and 10 years under your belt into WWII production, then on and on.
