ted eaton is thinking early in 56.doesnt know if dif and cf heads changed at the same time.you would think with all the 56s out there with original motors it would be easy to narrow it down.

taking a valve cover of wouldnt help.if its dif heads you can see the numbers by the exhaust ports.if its cf heads look under the front of the head.

i goofed on that the 65 heads had the small pushrod holes.these are 66 valves that take the rail rockers.the 66 rail rockers should fix the problem otherwise you will have to change to 65 valves.its...

if the heads have the small pushrod holes they are 66 as it seems are the valves you need 66 rockers.

these gaskets were used for years i used to see them all the time when i worked at a garage in the 80s.they only cost a few bucks give it a try.

this is a later 2100 carb from the early 70s.you can get a thick gasket its about 1/4 inch thick that will seal.ive used them before.ask for a 73 thick gasket i just bought one last year.napa should...

newer carbs are not similar to your 55 and require a different intake.i see those dist, offered but dont know how good they are.

often these engines will spin a wrist pin bushing and make a noise like this.but it takes some time and yours started suddenly.if youve got good oil pressure dont worry about it.

i found the answer this car has a swingaway column.you had to have the shift on the column to get this option.you couldnt get it with a 4 speed only automatic on the column.this is a rare car being a...

this is a xl and you can see it never had a floor shift.
