It is 'winter project time' again. This time the rain gutters are coming off and the wood needs to be repaired. I cannot replace it as of yet due to space and life. As you can see the front header is...

Bud Vase bracket

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can pick up two brackets for some bud vase that I got from the antique store? They are the carnival style glass vases.

Thanks,

Re: New to Ford Model A

Welcome to the club and and very nice truck. Contact Dick Crabtree about the ignition switch assuming it is original. His info is in the sticky at the top of the page.

Re: Was there a Model A "Kampar" ?

I wouldn't put it past someone back then to make a kit up to sell. That is cool though.

Re: What have you found working on your A?

Apparently when some club members pulled the 30 coupe body off of the frame they found a squished dragonfly. The body had never been off the frame. So somehow it got mashed at the factory. I don't...

Re: Which 2 tooth steering make to use?

I bought a core as a back for a rebuild this winter. It might be a Ford box, are they interchangeable with the different columns? One would think the parts will fit both boxes correct?

Re: different points in my distributor

Looks like a modern point set up to me. They are Ford points from 54-75 V8’s if I remember the years right.

Re: heater

There are some out there that go up through the floor boards. Also, they can work VERY well. So whomever sits in the passenger seat will get roasted.

Re: Insert Main Bearings

From what little I know.....there are pluses and minuses to both set ups. Plus, tighter tolerance and much longer engine life. Minus, a little piece of metal destroys the insert bearing and you...

Re: What is the spring and turn knob for on the bottom of the Zenith

It is the cast iron sediment bowl that got moved from the firewall to the carb body. I think that is correct.

Re: '28 sport coupe, would you or not?

Size wise the A should be bigger, more power etc. As long as the top is good you will be good and remember if you are caught in the rain...RainX is your best friend.

Re: Another new Model A owner.

Welcome to the Barn. It looks like you have a 28/29 water neck instead of a 30/31. Maybe the picture is off a bit and it is no big deal just making sure the upper radiator hose is long enough.

Re: luggage rack extention

I have the 3/8th thick version. If you can make thicker ones that is better as you want them as thick as possible and preferably about 2" longer as I have to take everything off to get to the spare...

Re: Balancing an engine at home (Newbie)

My question is this: How did that guy know the flywheel was good with the engine in the car? One would have to take it out to balance it separately and then with the clutch from what I have seen.

Re: Newbie '29 Speedster project, the good the bad and even the ugly (maybe)

The nice thing about Model a's is almost all of the parts can be bought new. That being said most if not all of the parts can be rebuilt and will be better than the new parts. Hershey is in your neck...

Re: Standard Interior in a 30 Town Sedan?

It is possible the owner converted a standard into townsedan. What Y said is correct. The main thing is the wood if you are not familiar with these cars. There is a lot of wood in them. I am not sure...
