Tim to sell the old girl

Hey all,

I bought mY 1928 of an old friend who was dying of cancer and did it as a favor. Although I like old cars my real love are 1950-60s cars.

Although I got bit by the bug for a short time...

Re: Spark rod rubbing

Interesting hypothesis Chuck, but how can you tell if the frame is sagging?

on mine, the previous owner seems to have bent the rod slightly to compensate but to no avail.

Spark rod rubbing

I was messing with taking some pics of the engine for a fiend and noticed the spark lever rod is rubbing on top of one of the engine Nuts.

I would assume that Henry did NOT intend for this to be...

Re: shavings found in light switch body

As I tried to write before being logged out, as usual there are several resolutions to one issue.

So I take it I have a Type H contact but a twolight plate.

I bought a new twolight harness and...

Re: shavings found in light switch body

I wrote a whole bunch of stuff and then when I submitted it said I was not logged in. I was logged in so it must of timed me out. I am tired of getting kicked out when I write more than a sentence!...

Re: shavings found in light switch body

@joe K: So you guys are suggesting the someone tried to put a twilight plate on top of the H style contact? That explains why it was so difficult to get the light switch at the steering wheel to make...

Re: shavings found in light switch body

I got a new light switch body from Snyders. If I recall it was labeled as 28-29 but appears to be for a twolight not an H config.
There is also a caveat note saying you have to do about ten thousand...

shavings found in light switch body

Hi All,
I've been off the grid for a while but now back and looking to replace the wire harness in the old 28-29 Sport Coupe.

I disconnected all the wiring and removed the light switch body....

Re: pin switch in door jamb?

Sorry, I misspoke. I believe to rerun a new harness I will have to pull the "horn rod?" I think that's the right part.

Re: pin switch in door jamb?

Tom,
I am going to do just that. I was adding a separate turn signal system and was having a heck of a time. On each discovery it was obvious a new harness was needed. Since I already have the turn...

Re: pin switch in door jamb?

Not that exact statement Y-block. I was using poetic license. But there are enough discussions on this forum about Model A theft that many seem to think no one would steal a Model A and even if they...

Re: pin switch in door jamb?

p.s. I am so tired of the wires that have been added, taped, spliced. dangle and hang from every possible corner of this vehicle, I think I need to rip it all out and start again from scratch with a...

Re: pin switch in door jamb?

Yes, thanks Tom. I know why one would put an alarm on a car so someone wouldn't steal it. But so many people on this forum say "Why even protect a Model A - no one would steal it because it s not...

Re: pin switch in door jamb?

Why would you put a door alarm on a 1928 coupe? So, if this is true, this door jamb has been modified and is NOT correct for a period 1928 coupe?

Re: pin switch in door jamb?

Ok, I guess my initial question will not be answered. Pretty simple: Should this apparent pin switch be in the door jamb of a 1928 sport coupe?

And Tom: Should I believe that a theft alarm was...

Thanks all for the input, all.

Yep duke36 I have the dash light and you are right. It is "self switched," if you mean by that, you have to turn the thing to make it come on.

Does anyone have...

pin switch in door jamb?

Hey All,

I've been meaning to ask everyone about this on my 1928 Sport Coupe. It appears to be a pin switch for a dome light. I haven't pulled the interior panel to look for wires - I think I need...
