I personally would want to look at the planetary gears and the condition of the sliding sun gear. I'd also make sure balk ring is still a snug fit and there is little or no wear in the sliding track...

Skip should be able to convert the coil to 12-volt if is still has the old Ford coil. You may want to ask Skip about the ballast resistor. It may not be necessary with his conversion.

Your set up is still vented although it is restricted. I don't thing the restriction is going to raise the pressure all that much. It would be heat expansion that raises the pressure the most and...

Those spring gauges are relatively easy to use and have little chains to get the floor distance the same from front to rear & side to side. They really don't cost much either.
