Re: Tudor rear quarter window-How's that work?

Do any of the screws in the middle of that panel adjust the height or travel of the window, like the one on the front window regulator, or do they just hold the regulator to that panel?

Re: Tudor rear quarter window-How's that work?

I don't see how to replace the window and window regulator without removing that panel.

Re: Tudor rear quarter window-How's that work?

Finally getting back to replacing this glass, window regulators, etc., etc. Does the panel that appears to hold the regulator come off by taking off the 6 screws I've highlighted with arrows? Is that...

Re: Airtex E8902 Debacle

Here's how I rigged the one on my '48. I have since replaced the clamps with better ones and the pump pictured with an AIRTEX E8016S. I still intend to install a shutoff valve before the filter. I do...

Re: Source for front splash pan bolts?

Thanks. I did not see them after an initial scan of their website or after a review of my Roy Nacewicz catalog. I'll call.

Source for front splash pan bolts?

Anybody know where I can find the two bolts that connect the grill upright to the front splash pan on my '48 Tudor? I have not been able to find the PNs in the Body Parts book.

Thanks, Dave

Re: Wheels are back from the powder coater

I use these hub nut washers on the wheels on my 48. Not sure if they'd work for yours though. https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_mercury_early/hub-nut-washer-cupped-stainless-steel-ford-passenger.html

Re: door panels 48 coupe

If you have the $, I might recommend just getting a panel set from Mac's. I got a set for my Tudor that I'm currently having covered. They look pretty good and include even the small panels for the...

Re: Engine diaper

For me, here's why Wizzernick's diaper idea was a good one: I don't have a garage, and I have a new driveway that I don't want to ruin. I bought a nice big new drip pan, but the wind would blow it...

Re: Engine diaper

Just an update. Have a couple hundred miles on it now and it's stayed in place even after highway speeds over 70. No more oil leaks on the driveway. Now, to resolve that coolant leak . . .

Re: engine photos

A sampling of the more impressive engines on display at last year's Ty-Rods show in MA. Hope it doesn't get cancelled this year like so many other early season events have.

Re: Antifreeze leak

I too have recently noticed I have an anti-freeze leak on my 59-AB. Dripping from the starter. Can't see where it's coming from yet.

Re: Tudor rear quarter window-How's that work?

Getting to point where I may attempt to replace the rear quarter glass. The Shop Manual only has instructions on replacing the swing-out glass in a coupe. Can anyone give me advice on replacing the...

Re: Been dabbling in Stainless trim repair

Interesting thread! I've got a piece of stainless trim from the inside door panel of my '48 Tudor that I accidentally bent. I've been unable to find a replacement, so I thought I'd try a repair. My...

Re: Engine diaper

This thing only has about 2,000 miles on it. I did my best to seal it up as best I could using all of the advice I could glean from various experts. I'm guessing it's that knife edge on the pan that...

I did steal your idea. I'm sure mine is nowhere as nice as yours though.

Thanks.

Re: Engine diaper

Thank you! Once I was able to drive it, I kind of put off doing all the little stuff I still had on the list, I was having too much fun hitting every show I could get to. As you may have seen on my...

Re: Engine diaper

[QUOTE=V8COOPMAN;1867282]OK, I'll buy that! But...is that a T5 transmission, or maybe even a Muncie 4-speed that I see in this picture? If so, please give us a little more info on it. That would...

Re: Engine diaper

Don't see how it could possibly get sucked into the (electric) fan and/or belts, wind at highway speed is its perceived enemy, if there is one. Yes, it's got a T-5. Full build thread on the HAMB...

Re: Engine diaper

Just did it today, but my intention is to try leaving it on there even when I drive it. It's stuck to the pan pretty tightly, so hopefully it won't become dislodged while being driven. My only...

Engine diaper

Saw an article in The V8 Times about someone who was making engine diapers, so I thought I'd give it a try. I cut out a square from an old double layer tarp big enough to hold a couple of layers of...

Re: Oil return line plugged?

On mine I really have to crank down the lid bolt to keep it from leaking, and I ended up putting two new gaskets on it, instead of one. There is a lot of pressure in there, even with the restriction.
