Re: Cracked Head

Straight water with soluble oil is what I use but it should be drained in the winter if there will be freezing temps. Antifreeze tends to seep and leak and can cause real problems.

Re: Door glass

A glass shop could sand the excess off non tempered glass easily, if it truly is excess.

Re: "B" Distributor timing with an "A" front cover

My A has a B distributor and an A cover. I set with the pin and advance until it just doesn't ping on steep hills. runs great with a little trial and error. get a degree wheel to look at if you want...

Re: Paint or Stain Trunk

It looks too nice to paint or stain. Why not just do a water repellent treatment? If you want a different color the auto parts stores sell fabric dyes in auto colors.

Re: Door Sound Deadning

Sound deadener/undercoating in a spray can works well and won't cost too much.

Re: Fresh overhaul & modern lube'

I would suggest 5-30 instead of 5-20 oil since a rebuilt engine will run at a higher temperature at first. Things in an A engine will never be to the close tolerances as a modern engine. I would use...

Re: "B" Distributor timing with an "A" front cover

That won't work because the car will run too retarded. I think in this senerio you should buy a B timing cover with a B distributor or add a stop to the A distributor to stop full advance.

Re: "B" Distributor timing with an "A" front cover

When the pin drops in the cam gear the car with a B distributor will run retarded by 19 degrees.

Re: Value of parts

You might be able to get a couple hundred for the lot. If any of it is rebuilt ask more.

Re: starter bendix

I give clean bare metal a light spray of WD-40 to inhibit rusting. It won't hurt the bendix.

Re: U. S. Mail

I think this was in the fall and is adding antifreeze after looking at enlarged rendition. He is maybe topping off with water after. OR he was flushing out a dirty radiator with a chemical solution...

Re: Windshield frame

If you list it, give thorough measurements across many points. It is probably made by (ACME) beep beep! So will maybe fit many makes of similar years. In my opinion sell it on Ebay Start low) and on...

Re: U. S. Mail

It doesn't look like a winter scene so I think he is using the can to get water from the creek.
