they still do that here in IL - i hate it though. Makes getting anything off either car extremely sketchy...(yes you sign the waiver and they let you bring your own tools in...)

oh yea, sometimes there would be some minor flaws about torque values or something but generally were accurate. Super helpful for most things and the electrical schematics were a godsend.

I sandblasted mine, ground out the grooves, painted with 2 coats of por 15, then slathered on my own 50/50 mix of graphite and open gear grease. Then bolted it all together and watched the grease...

I think it was "detroit gear and machine co." Ill have to search thru my dual high pics and see what the gears were stamped. The "dual high" box has the PTO take off on the bottom. There is a neutral...

Yes on finding another body and using the 2 piece shaft. They can get cracked also by people forcing too large of a bushing in the casting or using too much force pushing the old ones out.
