I managed to remove the driver side trim ring with the aid of a plastic tool made to remove automobile trim and a mallet....

I bought a 4-pack of 50-watt 6-ohm resistors from Amazon for $12.99. I installed two and the flasher works with the relays. Thanks to everyone for your help.

You can buy hose that meets all standards for ethanol fuel that is designed for carb engines. No need to spend extra for FI rated hose. I bought gates hose from rock auto with the fuel filter order.
