This is the easiest way to take a stuck block apart. There are several barners using this process. I took 7 blocks apart last year.

The front are wish bones. The rear are called radius rods or trailing arms. The Merc wish bone is 4" longer than the 39-40 Fords. The 39 Merc wish bone is the same length as the 42-48 Lincoln wish...

Make sure you use "Mineral Spirits". It has a very low flash on ignition. I have five blocks I am working on right now.

I bought the cheaper puller. I think I may have pulled two drums before the threads stripped. I regretted buying it. I went ahead and bought the Vintage Precision unit. I am very pleased with it....
