yes I put a chamfer on the seat then roll metal from the block on the chamfer. I used a black fluid in my Dads garage, but I do not know where he got it from.

If you do it right they will stay in place. But I would never use them unless I had to. I never had one come loose. But I have fixed a few other people have done.

could also be a condenser. check for a blue spark when it starts acting up.If yellowies red you have a bad condenser.

Try putting some tape on the out side spots you think it is coming from. If it stops you found it.

There is a lot more to it than just boring out the rod to the insert size. You have to have it in the right location, must be parallel with the wrist pin, rod bolts need to be torqued to the right...

with out hearing it, it is hard to say, but if it changes when you short it out to a faster noise my guess would be a rod. I would pull the pan and check the rod, piston rings wrist pin in that...

If you use 0 clearance you will never get the engine to turn. If it would it would melt the babbitt, there would be no oil flow. O clearance is BS

That is a common problem with the rear main with inserts. You need a oil path in the upper shell to get oil to the back of the 3 inch long bearing. If you do not do it your chances of spinning a...

If you have inserts you could be having trouble with the rear main not getting enough oil to the rear of the bearing.
The pistons are set to close by a lot of builders, you need .004 on number 3 and...
