Re: Noisy transmission

Re: 1928 Model A new to Ford barn.
Welcome and what a great story. Share more pictures of the engine and interior. Make sure the steering and brakes are safe and fully operable. You know the history already so there should be no...

Looks like a '32 firewall, sorry missed your note about reading sugarmaker Chris' thread about his old truck. You'll find lots of advice and direction here.

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck
Chris, keep on Truckin!
The longer you keep that ol truck, the more new refurbished parts she'll have and soon enough she'll be like new off the assembly line. That's how my Model "A" is lookin.

Re: Ford DATED safety glass.
The "5 33" dating on the Ford glass in my pickup corresponds to the Model "B" engine number stamp that is on the driver side frame rail and also dates the truck to May, 1933. The current V8 engine is...

Re: Burned '32 PU came to new home today
Newc, does your foot pedal spoon arm have the ball link for a hand operated throttle control too ? I have been curious to locate clear photos of the linkage from the floor pedal up along the inside...

Re: Autopsy of Broken "B" Engine
Great post and discussion. Getting our "A"s to go 50-60-65 MPH challenges the steering alignment and braking components too. I understand the maxim, "my car, my decision" but I just think those...

Re: Is a Restoration In Your Future?
I have had my Phaeton since 2001 and I have painstakingly hunted for and replaced 99.99999% of all the incorrect components to present it as a "1928" model year since it has the left hand e-brake...

Re: Fan Shroud?
If you have a shroud, use it, that's what they were made for. They are getting harder to locate in decent condition. I found one for my '28 and I believe it contributes to the overall performance of...

Re: Help with Phaeton Body alignment?
I will look at my '28 (not an early bird) and see what help I can provide. My rear passenger sticks at the jam when there are passengers back there but the two front doors have never stuck or been...

Re: 1928 Model A Frame - What is this
Houdaille Hydraulic shock absorbers, every "A" had them. It is worth cleaning them good and seeing what type those are if you wanna find a guy with an early '28 looking for those parts, don't ever...

Re: Motometer working /not working?
If your engine is running correctly it should barely register just a little less than 1/8" inch of red. On the hottest days of summer mine (21 yrs +) has never gone over half-way up the gauge and I...

Re: You ever do something really STUPID?
I've done lots of woodworking, measure 3X and cut once, but I always seem to cut on the wrong side of the pencil line and the damn board is still too long or too short. I do not see an end to this...
