I am looking for tips. The closest I have been able to get mine is a 1/2" gap. Have new hinges and support arms. I am aiming for a 1/8" gap but would be happy with a 1/4". All suggestions will be...

I had a local glass man install mine in my 48. Rubber goes in first using glass cleaner as a lubricant. He did not use a cord on the windshield but did on the rear window wrapped around the rubber...

Stenny: I think you are correct. I forgot about Monarchs as they have been gone for years. My merc will have a Monarch ring which will be a topic of conversation.

I have a horn ring the PO purchased for a 48 Merc which I am trying to identify as the insert is not listed in my catalog. Hope someone can tell me what I have. Photos attached.

Googled Shoebox and could not find quarter window springs. Bought a 2" spring from Home Depot and connected it to the comma with a rod and it seems to work.

7C-19625 is 48-55 ford truck and is available from Carpenter. Looks similar but will have to phone for sizes.

I am looking for the latch spring at the front of the hood which goes around the dowel and pushes the hood up an inch or so when the latch is released. It measures 1 1/4" OD and mine is 2 3/8" long.
