Re: ORIGINAL TIRE SIZE?? (FOR 1947 Ford Coupe)
The wheels that are on my '47 are 15". Probably not the originals (maybe Mercs). Best I can find in my "half-assed" 42-48 Service Handbook" shows a '46 Merc Sedan with 6.50 x 15 tires. Sound right??...

Raising the Front End.
I'd like to perk up the front end of my '47 Coupe. (raise it a little above level with the rear). What's a good, inexpensive, safe way to do that? If possible.
Thanx

Thanks to all of you for you're suggestions. Mart, I'm going to try yours and your idea of shortening those shackles is what I was thinking. Those longer shackles were installed by the previous owner...

STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN (Shake & Bang)
The steering wheel & column in my '47 car makes a bang & shakes when I go over some bumps in the road. For no better way of describing it, I'll call it a bang and a shake. I feel it all the way up...

Re: Spring Shackles???
dwick01,
The shackles that are on my car are longer than stock and the car sits a bit too low in the front. The springs are pretty much flat (no arch) and it takes bumps terribly.
