With new parts I use a light coat of grease on the packing nut and packing. Even the leakless pump parts get a little grease when assembling.

I feel you need to check into this further. If it were really the gas, every Model A in states with corn gas would have the same problem. Check and see what type of valve you have in the carb.

Paper plans and large paper plans at that, are the best way to go to minimize (not stop) piracy. Not easy or cheap to scan.
