Re: Shock rebuilder?

Apple Hydraulics rebuilt my 39 LaSalle shocks in 2008 and they are working just fine and do not leak. They also responded to my phone calls and their work was done promptly. If my 1940 Ford needed...

No more transmission knock.

The '47 Ford is back on the road and running and shifting great (no more knock). My mechanic pulled the transmission and it had two "newly chipped" teeth in the cluster gear. He contacted Van Pelt...

Re: Led tail light bulbs ??

2057 Bulbs? Are these brighter than the standard bulbs and will they fit in the original bulb sockets? Any other filament bulbs that might be brighter?

I am in process of trying to make my tail lights, rear turn signal lights and brake lights brighter on my 59 Ford. Has anyone had any luck with LED bulbs for this application? They make such bulbs...

Re: Need new fuel tank - 36 Cabriolet

Our company sells the gas tank sealer kits, and we have had previous success with the process, but considering the time and effort, I plan to order a new stock configuration tank from Tanks, Inc....

Need new fuel tank - 36 Cabriolet

My original fuel tank leaked all over the floor a few weeks ago - lucky we caught it in time. What is the best source for a new replacement fuel tank for my 1936 Ford Cabriolet convertible coupe...

Re: Best continuous-use electric fuel pump??

I have never used a relay for any of my cars with electric fuel pumps, but always use an under-dash push-pull switch to manually turn on the electric fuel pump for priming, as most of my cars also...

Re: Best continuous-use electric fuel pump??

A few years ago, I installed a 6-volt Airtex 8011 Electric Fuel Pump in my 1939 LaSalle for priming purposes only, as car had an original fuel pump that worked just fine. For the first year, the...

Re: Transmission knock or ???

Thanks much - once I figure out the exact source of the noise, I will pull the transmission and get it to Van Pelts. In the meantime, am still looking for suggestions as to what might have failed,...

Re: Transmission knock or ???

I did some testing today:

1) Knock is noticeable only in 1st, 2nd, reverse and neutral at any time the clutch is released. Knock is a heavy knock (not a tinny knock) and seems as if someone is...

Re: Transmission knock or ???

What about this?

Another possibility is that someone who is not familiar with a 3-speed column shift transmission might shift from low into reverse instead of into second. Would something like...

I have used Gas Tank Renu for 3 tanks now and they were always more than satisfactory. Running with a gas tank full of gunk will clog up everything soon. We usually change the fuel lines at the same...
