Re: 1955 F-100 5.0L timing

I've had trouble in the past with some cars using manifold vacuum. Get everything set at idle and then you put in drive, rpm drops and then vacuum drops that pulls the advance down and that drops rpm...

Re: Window raiser stem extender source

Check with Mustang parts suppliers, you need an extension on window crank when switching to Pony interior, may be something you can use.

Re: Gas in oil

It may be just me but I try to wean it off the choke asap, just using the throttle until warmed up. But I don't try and drive until warmed up. Your situation may be different.

Re: Sensor cable to brake backplate - 2007 F150?

Even with everything repaired it may leave a sour taste in your mouth. Sounds as though they have abused it pretty bad. You may start having premature powertrain and suspension problems. I thought...

Re: California pcv ??

Relative drove a 54 Ford in California in the 60's, she said they made her get one in her area. There looks to be a valve at the end of the hose above the brass fitting.

Re: 1955 Crown Victoria headliner question

I'm not sure but have a book somewhere that had a lot of details. I think you can still buy used. The resurrection of Vicky may be the name.

Re: fordomatic fluid

I just use the type F and green antifreeze in my pre 80's cars. Ford already has changed the color and content of coolant twice in my 2012 and 2005, orange, pink, gold. What did they do, hire someone...

Re: front 57 wagon sway bar install

Not sure if it makes a difference on 57 but are the A arms at ride height or full drop. Is the car up on ramps or jack stands under frame. Energy suspension makes a lot of universal parts, used to be...

Re: Draining FE coolant through block plugs

I have never had much luck with getting block drains out. What is the reason for draining? Just curious.

Re: Reviving a proper six

Re: Adding turbo to classic FE block

I actually find all of this interesting. Thanks for the block pics. Didn't know the carb pad was flat on intake. Did it use an angled spacer under carb like the 385 engine in Continentals? Probably...

Re: 1951 flathead to C4 conversion
