Scrape off the excess with a chisel. Then, using good rubber gloves, apply some methylene chloride (paint remover.) Let set, then scrape again with a chisel and some coarse steel wool. Wipe clean...

Good point. Also, never rechase the holes in the pumpkin and always use original bolts if the threads are good. If the tapped holes are full of gunk, a thin wire brush and some solvent cleans them....

When I got my 30 CCPU, it had what looked like a very bad sag in the front spring.

All it turned out to be is a broken center bolt.

As long as I have my email address , and the email address of the person I want to send the images to, why is it asking for an email address on Photo...

Harbor Freight has a nice, reasonably priced hole punch set. I used it on all my frame welting. Nice crisp round holes with no back side fray.

If you live in a state that does not require a front plate, it would look nice with a restored original year plate.

Many Suppliers have the nice stainless steel clamps.
