The Canadians made castings like blocks and heads but I would think given the proximity of Detroit to Windsor, Ontario, that the crankshafts and camshafts were made and machined in the USA.

Le Baron Bonney offer leather as an option for 1940 coupes - standard and deluxe, or at least they used to.
I have a folder from them, sent to me some years back with the leather and vinyl samples...

A friend is going to install 12 volt headlamps in his 39 coupe.
He wants to know will he have to change everything else - eg:
generator to alternator, interior bulbs, radio, tail lamp bulbs etc....

Try welding a 2 inch long piece of flat steel on each of the upper arms on yours to extend their length.
Higher lift angle makes all the difference.
Eases the strain.
Works on 39 coupes.

Could mean the area where the shaft passes through the base plate.

I remember seeing 39 standard hood handles at right angles on cars going down the road 50 years ago.
Usually fixed with a couple of layers of insulation or thread tape on the shaft as Phil did....

Good condition overall.
Not running - no WOF or Rego.
New running board rubbers.
New LHD wiring looms.
Presently being painted in Dartmouth ( dark ) Green.

A pair of inner front guards for 38 deluxe or 39 standard in tidy original condition.
Also a pair of 38/39 tail lights - no glass lens OK.

I have a couple of Waltham '39 deluxe speedometers with the cast metal case rather than the more common cylindrical can type.
I wonder what the point was in them making it an option.

Lacks the centre bracket but otherwise looks in not bad condition.
