What you need for your Diesel engine is an Oxygen scavenger additive, usually contains a nitrite which ties up the oxygen in the antifreeze. The oxygen in the antifreeze is what causes the neatly...

Fun mixing up degrees F and degrees C. A mole of a non electrolyte in water will raise the BP .52C, but ethylene glycohl is an electrolyte so it raises the BP much higher.
