Re: Straightening front bumper

Thanks to all that responded. I like Pete's method. I was thinking of using a bottle jack under a solid opening above to force the bow downward, verses stepping on the bumper bar. That way I could...

Re: 7-tooth Sector problem

It sounds like you are installing the sector correctly with the thrust washer. Original thrust washers are thicker than the repro washers, but not so thin to have the problem you are having. Is the...

Straightening front bumper

I have a 28/29 front bumper (both bars) that are bowed inward about 1/2" in the middle. The bars have been rechromed so I don't want to damage the plating. I believe the bars are made of spring...

Re: Roadster tulip panel issues

I was kind of think the same thing as 31steve. If the part is a repro, all bets are off!

Re: Roadster tulip panel issues

You didn't state what year or model model A you have. It appears to be a 28 or 29 roadster. You might have the wrong year panel.
You might add the year and body style to your post.

1928 – mid 30 CCPU - AA door latch

1928 – mid 1930 closed cab pickup door latch. The latch is in good condition for being over 90 years old. It has been beadblasted to show its condition better. The main spring appear to be there...

1931 model A Ford distributor housing

For sale, 1931 distributor housing with bridged tabs. This distributor housing was introduced at the beginning of 1931 in that it had bridged “ears” where the 2 bale retainers are attached. This...

Re: Sheet metal patch panel questions

Jim,
A MIG with gas is what I use to weld in mostly homemade patch panels. I have constructed patches for the rear part of the subrails and the rear under fender body panels with the ribs made by...

Re: suggestions regarding new w/s frame

There is not supposed to be weather stripping on the sides of a 28/29 open vehicle windshield frame. The side weather stripping fits in the slots of the stanchions. 30/31 open vehicle windshield...

Re: 29 pickup top wood bolts

There aren't many brackets that I know of on the top, mostly just wood and fasteners. If I remember correctly, the brackets are attached to the top of the A pillar and the top of the backpanel. ...

Re: 29 pickup top wood bolts

You didn't state whether your pickup is a CCPU or open pickup. An open pickup only has a small amount of wood on the top (top bows and belt rail), so I assume you have a 29 CCPU like I do. Do you...

Some model A vendors sell stainless steel rods. When using these rods, you don't have to worry about rust, at least on the rods.
