Re: What is it?

The build up of the armed forces was well under way and enormous amounts of armaments and other essential goods were being sent to England under the Lend/Lease program.

Re: Interest in new restoration project thread?

Mike,

Under these things, but there is a fundamental difference in that what you show is your handiwork and in my photos, the handiwork is that of a couple of long-time good friends who happen to...

Mike,

A detour, but I wanted you to know that you are not alone.

Re: '33 tire cover outer band

If the origin of the car that the band came off was Ford of France, the color choices were not the same as in the U.S., even though the body was of North American origin.

Re: Cowl lights- AV8 Roadster

Sadly, at least half the drivers on the road today are clueless when it comes to hand signals. Some even interpret them as urging them to pass. I've seen some scary things happen to bicycle riders...

Re: What is it?

Depending on its size it could be a savings bank, given the advertising message.

Re: Tranny info and test?

Terry,

With respect, there are no separate synchronizer blocker rings in a '32 transmission, but I agree with you otherwise.

Re: Tranny info and test?

With respect, given that vehicle in question is a '32, there is no option regarding the removal of a transmission once installed. It cannot be removed to the rear because of the design of the...

Re: Frame Webbing Installation

Originally the 1/16" x 2" webbing was held in place with brass grommets used on several of the larger holes in the chassis frame. It was centered on the frame so that both the outer and inner edges...

Re: Ebay sales tax in place

It refers to the guy who lives in a state where there is no income tax and yet he still resents helping to pay for the services he receives from the state.

Re: Ebay sales tax in place

Florida has the same requirement as Minnesota and other states likely do as well. Let me guess who is unaware of that despite being a resident (evidently).

Re: flathead oil pan

I note that he attempted to include a photo. That would be very helpful to those of us limited to one or two languages, neither being the language of the Loire Valley.

Re: 32 axle bent twist ?

Try and find an unmodified, unbent axle to borrow and try out, even a '33 or'34 as they are the same spring perch to spring perch dimensionally. Who knows how the dropped axle was modified?

Re: Basic trouble shooting 32 generator

Jim,

It would help if you shared which '32 generator you have; four or V8 and original (no wires, just a threaded stud protruding) or later (with protruding wires)?

Re: 32 axle bent twist ?

I agree that it appears to be bent in the middle, but unusually so. Normally, bends occur from the axle striking an hard object like a large rock or tree stump causing deformation front to back. In...

Re: Ebay sales tax in place

In your example it is based on the long-standing premise of taxation where the goods are received and not a result of a recent change in Washington state tax laws. You received the goods in...

Re: Starters & Generators

From the '34 chassis parts book.

Your generations all appear to be the one-year-only '32 V8 variety while the start motors are '32-'48.

Re: Flathead Partially Disassembled

Definitely not a '32 block. The water pumps, cylinder heads, and the red toppped fuel pump appear to be the '32 versions. A photo of the side of that fuel pump would identify it as early/mid-year...

Re: 1933 vs. 1934 Ford Frame VIN#'s locations

Yes, at that time all of the Ford companies in Commonwealth countries were Ford of Canada subsidiaries, except the United Kingdom. It is only in relatively recent times (late 1990s) that Ford of...

Re: 32 ford frame stamps

Can't say regarding Model A numbering, but Ford of Canada serialized its engines in relatively small batches (up to 10,000 in the case of V8s and up to 5,000 for fours) unlike Ford U.S. with each...
