OK I looked at the numbers again and the number 9 is the later type stamping after 1931 to the end of production. The number 8 looks like a snowman, a larger circle on the bottom and a smaller circle...

The RC is just before the numbers followed by a star. It is on the block excatly where the numbers should be. The ID reads RC 59848*. I can't post any pictures.

exhaust gasket blows out
