I've read that as a cost cutting manoeuvre Ford left out the either the exhaust or intake seats in '50 or '51 and then did away with both in '52.

That's a heck of a lot of oil pans! I have what came with each engine. I'll try to look at the Merc pan today.

I have the LZ cluster gears in great shape. Second may just need a little...
