Truck Bed and Rear Fenders

Need help replacing sector roller bearing

I am trying to rebuild my steering box. The sector roller bearing has a small spot where the metal shows some galling. I think replacing the roller bearing is beyond my capabilities.

When I put in the first piston I noticed this slot on the dome head.


From what I am reading I think it might be a fire slot? Not really...

Looking at installing 15 x 7 wheels with 4 inch backspacing on my 1951 ford f1.

Has anyone used wheels with these same specs? I want to make sure that they wont hit the fenders when making a turn.

The axle bearings and oil seals were replaced. The ring and pinion and the carrier were left alone.
The pinion seal was replaced so the pre-load may have been affected. Not sure how I should have...

I put new seals in my rear axle. now the drivers side is very hard to turn by hand. If I use the wheel studs for leverage with a stick it does turn. There are no leaks and no noise. Is this a problem?
