Accurate voltmeters that will fit are available from electronics suppliers.
You can tell a lot more about the system with a voltmeter if you know what to look for.

Use s 37 to 48 cross steer box for RHD. Mount it for side steer. Use the frame kickout mounting method. No mods required to the box itself.

Any spacer is no different than bolting the spring to a flat plate as in suicide front perch.
The bolts hold the spring in place, The radius rods/wishbone keeps the spring from twisting.

If you mess with the spring, you will modify the ride. Most likely harsher.
A 2 inch aluminum block between the spring and crossmember will give you the lift. You may need longer U-bolts....

While not as strong as a scatter shield, the steel one will serve much better for safety sake in case of a flywheel or clutch blowup and they DO blow up on the street occasionally.

For that much modification, it is a BAD SCENE to not have a damper.
The heavier the better, even if you have to trim the front cross member a 1/4 inch.

I like the Dan Price oil pump for a wet sump engine. It has a built in adjustable, calibrated by-pass valve. No mods needed to install.

For sure, blowers are cheap hp but most vintage racing rules do not allow blowers. Exception, LSR.

And definitely, a racing engine has "custom made everything" in it as noted by the similar cost...

The piston came deck height. The top ring was .200 below the edge of the relief. Same as the V8's.

Yes, the top fuel FLATHEAD 4 banger that won the Antique Nationals was relieved.
