I hate to take the car apart and have it sitting in the garage in my way for weeks/months trying to find parts. I would rather have a new gear or enough parts to completely rebuilt this one before...

Thanks to all who have replied. I'll try to answer all questions in this one reply. I'm using DOT-3 brake fluid. The Master cylinder push rod is about 1/16-1/8 short, which I would consider normal....
