It may help the Ford Barn members viewing your posting if you added a photo, photos of the timing fixture.
Someone in the past may have made changes to it over the years.

As a former Snap-On Dealer in the USA I took my customers torque wrenches to the local Snap-on repair center had had them calibrated. Most of them did not need to be overhauled.

I can shed some light on this. I started at the Henry Ford Trade School in 1951 our building at the Rouge Plant was an easy walk to the Engine assembly building.
Since I had a trade school badge...
