SNYDER’S 5.5 head vs 6.1

I have run the 6.1 and the 5.5 Snyder head. I personally prefer the 5.5 for a inexperienced model a driver. The 6.1 runs good but I have to retard the timing a bit more here and there, my “a’s” have...

Goodyear tire logo colors and orientation

I may post this on the model a side as well as some of those guys have the OCD levels to paint the logos as original.

Anyways, I lost my photo of a NOS Goodyear tire I used to have and can’t...

Re: gas tank 1933 pickup

You can use a 1935-37 Pickup tank in the 33-34 as well as 34 victoria. They accept a electric sending unit but a adapter is available to adapt your original sending unit. On these I would only use a...

Re: '40 Brake Bleeding

To the original poster are you running reproduction shoes? If so you need to grind .020" off the tabs of the shoes where the cylinder pistons push against. The reproduction shoes are made with the...

Re: 33 ignition switch

The plate with the tab is used on 1932's and Early Production 1935's from the ones I have taken apart, but we still include it in the kit shown above as a just in case measure

Re: Is the 32-39 light switch same as model A

The light switch itself is the same 1928-37, but can be use in 38-39's as well. The 38-37 is a three position switch whereas the 38-39 is a two. The outer cover is has three different variations that...

Re: 3 bolt to 2 bolt distributor adapter

My thoughts exactly. It must not truly be a 59A, maybe a 39-41 24 stud?

Re: Carpenter's trunk lids (quality) 1940

Mike I ordered one on my dealer account for a customer, and had it drop shipped. Never heard back good or bad, but I'd imagine if the fitment was terrible he would have informed me.

Re: Can’t find stock color tan front mat?

You’d want a 36 mat. If you use a later mat you’ll have to cut the hole for the parking brake and starter switch. The reproduction Benton grey 36 mat is very close in color to the 35 taupe mat

Re: Autolite 216 plugs

They do not have a direct cross refence, the E3.52 is the one I have used. https://shop.e3sparkplugs.com/automotive-spark-plugs/e3.52-spark-plug/

Re: Autolite 216 plugs

Call me different but all I use is either E3 or Autolite plugs. I have had issues with Champions and NGK fouling out, a issue I have never had with a Autolite. I do like the E3 plugs for the 38-53...

Re: Drivetrain Advice Needed

15/29 and a 3.54 are the clear winner for me, and if you have enough hp, then 15/29 with a 3.25. I live in the hills and you wouldn’t catch me dead with LZ gears in one of my cars. They are great for...

Tech tip —— 1940-48 transmission shifter arm repair

The last few weeks we’ve had a few rebuilds on 40/48 shifter housings. The shifter arm pins are nearly always worn. Rather than replacing with diminishing NOS arms, we’ve been repairing them for...
