Re: 50 Shoebox lower A arm outer seals

From what I see you are good to go.
The original 8A 3088 was replaced by the 8A 3088-B which is also the same one used on the '52-'53 Mercury.

Re: 50 Shoebox lower A arm outer seals

The 3088 number may be correct but the suffix would make it different.
These are some original ones that are shaped the same as the ones in previous post just a different size.

Re: 50 Shoebox lower A arm outer seals

That's great, it appears to be a private group on Facebook that you have to join in order to view.
And if you have the right seals there is not any frustration or special procedures that I had to...

Re: 50 Shoebox lower A arm outer seals

Yes, all seals go to the inside of the A frames.
The seals you have appear to be for the '52-'53 suspension.

Re: flathead mercury EAC engine info needed

It's not the blocks that were dated but the date that the complete engine was assembled/tested and ready to install.

Re: flathead mercury EAC engine info needed

What you show is not a date code as per chart.
The code will be a letter (to designate month) followed by a number (to designate day of month ) followed by a letter ( to designate year )

Re: flathead mercury EAC engine info needed

From what I see it looks like possibly an 8BA truck engine with Mercury heads.
There may or may not be a date code on the rear passenger side intake manifold mounting surface....

Re: PayPal and eBay getting a dicorce

Ebay is required to charge sales tax for just about all states.
They are not getting any kickback from the states but the states are now getting sales tax that they did not get before the ruling.

Yes, there are intakes without the offset available from various sources but seeing that I already had the Offy manifold, my solution to the same shroud interference problem, was to fabricate an...

As I saw it Paypal will still be there but a small percentage of business will be directed to another service provider.

Re: Air Cleaner Mystery!!

If there is not any way to shut off the flow from the air cleaner to the breather, a carburetor backfire could turn the engine crankcase into a hand grenade..

Re: 1952 Ford Ranch Wagon VIN

Either someone took it off to fix or paint the car or there is some

'hanky-panky' going on and the number on the frame doesn't match the plate

Re: 1952 Ford Ranch Wagon VIN

As stated the top number is the serial/vin number.
There may or may not be the same number stamped on top of the frame rail
in line to just in front of the firewall. (right or left)
Incidentally...

Re: Fuel pump pushrod length

The early pushrod is a smaller dia. than the 8BA rod which is 10-1/16" long and the early one should not be used.
Most of the original 8BA rods are all steel and the ends are brazed into the tube....
