Well, guess this is my problem. No notch in my trunk lid.
Its fiberglass so perhaps it was left out or widened out to fit the handle.

Thank you Zeke. I understand from BobDrake.com that I should have a special washer that is keyed along with a nut to hold the handle on. I don't see the notch in the trunk lid however as it has been...

'37 trunk handle problem

The trunk handle on my '37 opens the trunk either in the lock or unlocked position. The car is new to me and the handle was held on by a flat washer, a lock washer and nut. What am I missing?
