Re: Measurement Needed 51 Vicky

I would think if I flipped those shackles back that the rear would be sitting about 4” lower; from my guesstimate now, after seeing what stock looks like, I would say that my springs have sagged...

Re: Measurement Needed 51 Vicky

Thanks, that does help a lot; mine are approximately 9.25” and that’s with the shackles reversed, so my springs have definitely sagged quite a bit. I guess I’m going to order regular height springs,...

Re: Measurement Needed 51 Vicky

Yes, I’m aware that a previous owner flipped the shackles, what I’m looking for is the distance from the fender opening to the centerline of the axle(center of the wheel) I’m going to replace the...

Measurement Needed 51 Vicky

So I recently purchased a 51 Vicky
I noticed something that wasn’t right at the rear spring purches, so I’m needing a measurement, to figure out if my springs are weak, or if someone decided to...

Re: 51 Vicky Door Window Channel Felt

That’s for a coupe not a Vicky

51 Vicky Door Window Channel Felt

Just recently bought a 51 Vicky that’s been somewhat restored. All the window/door rubber/seals have been replaced, for the exception of the front window felt/seal that is up against the vent...

Wheel/Tire Fitment 51 Vicky

Does anyone know if a 16x6 wheel with 3.5” back space and a 205/70R16 tire fit in the front & rear wheel-wells of a 51 Vicky without rubbing?

Just purchased a 51 Vicky and I’m looking for a complete JAMCO Tubular steel front suspension kit, as well as new lowered rear springs. I’m also wanting to swap to power steering, but would like to...

Re: 1951 8BA Flathead

Tubman, unfortunately, I don’t have a clue what the stock size wheels are, and whether the ones on my Vicky are “Stock”, so when you mentioned your wheels are 1/2” wider than stock, what’s stock? Do...

Re: 1951 8BA Flathead

Thanks, it’s definitely a cool car. If you do have the left EAB Head, how much would you want for it? I’m thinking of the Edelbrock Heads, IF & WHEN, they become available again; not for really...

Re: 1951 8BA Flathead

Thanks for that information. I ordered a set of American Racing wheels, Sept 2020, for a CJ5 I just sold a month ago; I finally received them March 2021!
I checked with H&H Flatheads today, and...

Re: 1951 8BA Flathead

Okay, so that’s the going price for new ones (in stock) through eBay. I found them on Summit Racing and Speedway for $1075, BUT, if you order them now, estimated ship date is December 7, 2021!...

Re: 1951 8BA Flathead

Okay, so searching the aftermarket finned aluminum heads, the Offenhouser heads are RIDICULOUSLY priced: no way I’ll spend $1700 for a pair. So it’s looking like Edelbrock heads at half the price...

Re: 1951 8BA Flathead

I do appreciate all the feedback, pro/con, I do appreciate it. I totally agree that flatheads with the aftermarket finned aluminum heads and chrome acorn nuts look amazing. Since I received the first...

I know the available options, I was just wondering if anyone has actually tried using a uniSteer Power Rack & Pinion Kit on their Shoebox, and what’s their feedback about it. I’ve heard a lot of...
