I was taught to only tighten or loosen to 1/2 " deflection on the fan belt. 1" is pretty loose.

I have used Skip Haney for my dizzy & coil. Excellent turn around reasonable great work fee. Send the dizzy & coil in together, he sets them up & tests the when done.

That piece is called a guide plate & from what I could find is supposed to be installed until 39. I'm have some difficulties get my lever to turn back & forth & am thinking about leaving it out ....

I mounted mine to the cowl just below the cowl lamps . Swan neck mirrors from Bob Drake. Work great as the mirror curves around the light. Steady as a rock,1 mounting hole & smaller hole for smaller...

I am not sure if you want to try to rearch it yourself, it is not all that hard but does involve time & a bit dangerous. I did mine on the 34 but different spring. I made this press & with a bottle...

Koates, You are more than welcome to come & help. You should see the underneath of the dash. I only started this 34 project when I turned 80. That is pretty quick for a bucket case doncha think.
