Re: 1937 Flathead lost bolt... Help!

The rear wall of the block does have some recesses, in the area below the two oil drain holes at either side of the rear filler tube area. Not saying the bolt is in there, but you just never know.

Re: What's your "Go To" for a hard head?

Try and work out which stud is holding tight. Move each end up and down and observe which one it is rocking on. Put wedges just to the left of the tight one and lift the right side (or vice versa...

Re: 2 bolt crab on a 21 stud question

The distributor will only correctly engage with the cam at one spacing. Both setups should give you this spacing.

The ideal scenario would be to swap the cam and go direct two bolt and no spacer.

Re: 2 bolt crab on a 21 stud question

In that case the two bolt cover with the spacer or the three bolt cover with the three to two bolt adaptor will both give the same result. They are both designed to mate a crab distributor to a long...

Re: 2 bolt crab on a 21 stud question

Vanspeed: What cam do you have in it? If the 46 type cam then the 2 bolt cover and the crab dist. will bolt right on. No spacer required.

Re: Strange brake drums

I found this one pic on the hamb. Might have been rear only?? Fronts also have windows but are one piece (or at least one bolt pattern).

Re: So I have a little problem...

An excellent job, with guidance and actual physical help in the form of loaned parts from someone with direct experience of the job. This, gents, is what these chat forums are for.

Long live...

Re: What in Tarnation?

Cool. Good progress all round. I know what you mean about obsessing about stuff. If there is a problem, I can't leave it alone until I have come up with a solution.

Keep it up GB.

Re: Hard to start when hot

I agree with the post above re fuel dripping into the manifold.

That or any other of the reasons why a 94 wants to run rich.

I list them out in post no.4 in this thread.

Re: It's Friday. Time for a Flathead video. Crusty Flatty Pt.15.

Hi done4 thanks for watching.

That process is covered in next weeks episode. It wasn't difficult and didn't take long. I recently bought a die grinder and a selection of carbide burrs. I did a job...

Hi Russ. I have a milling machine but it is not big enough to take a whole flatty. I showed the method for trimming the liners in a previous video. It's at the 39 minute mark in part 10.

Basically...
