Going by this starter parts drawing I would say that they are connected in series, but with the heavy winding the ohmage will be very low.

Russ, what is the gizmo in the heater return line, just below the 90 elbow? I suspect it is a control valve of some sort/

I would suspect that is because the humidity of the compressed air is higher that open air.

Ya gotta be careful, I ran across a tape one time that gave me fits, turned out it didn't have inches, it had 1/10ths of a foot. It was a surveyors measuring tape.

Primary should be about 1.2 to 1.6 ohms, Secondary should be anywhere from about 3K ohms to about 9K ohms.

Anyone use PAL nuts. Ford used them for many years on the flathead V8S. Methinks there' still some in the bottom of one of my tool boxes.
