Re: Canvas top too loose

I believe upholstery shops steam material before installation to make it more pliable. I don't think steaming will shrink it, its more likely to expand it. You should check with an upholstery shop to...

The seller is near Burbank, CA and he's asking $25K. It's listed in the L.A. Craig's List.

Don't forget "All Girls Garage." Nice to see girls wrenching, Christy Lee, Bogie and the new girl that looks like "Beatle Juice"!

Re: 10 years a roadster!

Hey Jack,

A flathead V-8 in a Model A, sounds like you were a "hot Rodder" in your day. When did you get "religion" and start working on 4 bangers?

Re: Will I fit in a Roadster??

Jeff,

You're right about the movies. The only two I can think of are comedians, Oliver Hardy and Fatty Arbuckle!

Re: tell a Model A related story

Jim,

Speaking of having to recharge the A/C every summer, my 2004 Toyota Highlander has the same problem; otherwise, it's been a great car and just now going over 300K miles.

The first time I...

Re: instrument panel lighjt

Thanks, Sychro and Carl. Yes, it gets hot with the regular bulb. I agree about replacing the bulb with an LED.

Re: instrument panel lighjt

Since you only need it at night, could it be wired into the headlight circuit so it would only go on when you turn on the headlights?

Re: Odd VIN

I might agree with you guys but that trip from my house to Lake Forest requires traveling on Highway 91 which is congested 24/7, a real bumper-to-bumper nightmare!

Even with a Transponder for the...

In this case, it seems to me that it is the dealer's responsibility to straighten out the title.

That is one of the reasons I wanted to buy a car with a clear California title and a current...

Pete,

You said "With a properly modified base plate . . ." Do you mean a modified "original" plate or a modified "modern" plate?

Re: Will I fit in a Roadster??

I have a 29 Roadster with a standard seat. I'm 5' 8" and 170 lbs. and it's a tight fit getting in and out of it, especially with the top up. The door is narrow and it's a tight squeeze between the...

Re: Charging a dead battery

Synchro909,

Yes, my wife wants me to trade it in so she can buy a new Lexus. Should have done it before It reached a 100K miles. Would have saved me a lot of money.

rune,

I charged it at 2 amps for two days and the electrolyte did not rise nor did it spill out. I'll check the battery with a multimeter to see if has held a charge.

I forgot to mention that the charger has a setting "75 amps 12/6 volts START" to start the car. I tried that first but the starter didn't turn over so I took the battery out of the car.

I charged...

Re: Charging a dead battery

Good advice Mike. I'll get a new battery and a new coil as well. It's the same battery that came with the car so I'm sure it's bad.
