Re: Re-skinned rumble lid

If the skin comes off easy. It might not be too bad to trim off one edge and then weld the end back on. I had to do that with skin I used.

Re: Hood - what should it look like?

Does anyone have a picture of a good 29 hood? I also found pictures of a tool guys have built to fix this problem. Two pieces of metal with the size of loop drilled through in a clamp.

Re: Hood - what should it look like?

I was wondering if using vice grips with a wide flange could be used to work the bend back in? Might have to add some metal to the vice grips to get the right shape.

Re: Hood - what should it look like?

I was not sure which side had the right shape. I have been searching the web for a hood picture with no luck. So hammer and dolly the drivers side down?

Re: Hood - what should it look like?

Does anyone have pictures of a 1929 hood close up on a restored car? What is the best way to straighten it?
Thanks

Re: Door striker screw thread?

It is a 29 coupe. I was afraid that it would be a special thread. I guess 1/4 20 I bought today is not going to work. Is the repro hardware the correct thread?

Re: 1934 driveline install help

I think I figured it out. The bolt holding the rear spring pack together was too big so it was pushing everything forward.

Re: 1934 driveline install help

Can’t seem to get the pictures to post here. The nuts that hold the torque tube to the trans. Mount.
Is there a install sequence? Is the 4 cylinder driveshaft longer?

Re: 1929 coupe wood pictures needed

The piece that goes against the metal edge at the back of the top- the bevel faces the back of the car? Looks like it goes the other way in the picture, but mine seems to be curved to go that way?
