The 8.8 swap is a nice swap, but not that easy as there has to be a number of modifications that must be made to get it fitting right.

13 volts when charging is too low for a 12 volt system. It should be 13.7 to 14.5 volts.

I find carb cleaner does a good job on grease and oil. The purple cleaner also.

Flywheels also came in a 11 inch version - used in Tbirds. As far as I know, all YBlock flywheels are inter-changable but as noted, have different size clutches

Check with Speedway. For years I've seen ads for putting an FE in an early pickup using a crossmember. There is a Ford Truck site that may offer suggestions. Maybe some one here has the URL.

Power source of the mid 50's Fords for the back up lights came from the light switch. You had to have either the parking lights or the headlights on for the back up lights to work.

I had a Mallory on a Hot Rod (53 Merc with 2 2BBls) and it ran very well. I suggest keeping the Mallory unless you are going for Concours judging

I don't have a picture, but from what I remember on a two bbl, the linkage on the firewall was connected to linkage bolted to the back of the intake manifold and ran to the right (passenger) side of...

At the neutral safety switch the back up lights are black with a red tracer> Based on the schematic I have, the same color was used for the entire circuit.

The Chinese government is not very friendly to religious people, especially Christians. Adding to the turmoil there now, it is not a very good place to go to.
