A method I have found useful, after heating the stud red, I turn the engine upside down.
It helps to get the heat into the threaded part of the stud in the block, the heat wants to make its way up....

Be sure, you have contact between conversion plates spring pin to the contact place on breaker points.
Spring pin may be bent, has happened to me!

I think there are different degrees say 1-10 of how hard a cylinder head is stuck.
In this case, I think I reached # 10.
Model B marine converted engine.
Penetrating oil and head puller in full...

The owner is a friend so I only have the picture.
What I can see in the picture is not cast together with the block, so not part of the block.
If you zoom the image, it appears that the "pad" is...

Looks like someone tried installed bracket for B fuel pump.
Has anyone seen this before?

1/8-28 BSP, The flank angle is 55°

It's easy to mix them up, especially for us here on the other side of the pond where the BSP thread is more frequent!

Model B engine steam holes ...

Hope you guys can help me find out.

What purpose had Ford when they introduced the steam holes in the Model B engine?

I have several model B cylinder head where the steam holes are blocked....

I bought a B-engine that had been sitting in a Model A, and they had made some changes to the front end of the oil pan! Well .. you never know the reason.
