Re: Problems restarting with warm engine on incline

Ober,
What I have found to cure this is shut off the gas valve and let the engine empty the carburetor. When you get ready to go again you have fresh, cooler gas in the carb and it restarts and...

Re: Squeaky Brakes

Lenny,
Had the same problem on our '30 coupe. Switched everything around on the front and the squeal followed the hub and drum. This winter I put new drums on and the hub was not flat. The drum...

Re: Tire Replacement

Fred,
Replaced our who knows how old Allstates last spring. I broke the beads and replaced all four tires while they were mounted on the car. Broke the bead by hand on three and squeezed the...

Re: Cast Iron Rear brake drums

Grumps,
Just installed new drums on our '30 coupe. I slipped the rear drums on before taking them in to be swedged fearing the same problem you have. Fortunately they went on easily over the e...

Re: Separating driveshaft from pinion gear

J,
When I installed my Mitchell all I did was leave the nut flush with the end of the driveshaft and rapped it with a lead hammer. Driveshaft popped right out. Dale

We put four new Universal tires on our '30 coupe this spring. Ours are made in Vietnam. That being said they are very smooth riding compared to the Allstates and show no sign of premature...

Re: Mitchell overdrive

Lawrie,
Running 3.54 gears and a 26% overdrive gives you about a 2.60 final gear. I run a 3.78 gear with a 26% Mitchell and is a great combination with a stock engine. Mine would not like any...

Re: Stop Stall

We had the same stop stall problem with our '30 coupe. Found that braking hard in reverse caused no stall. Raised the float level and the stop stall was over.

Re: Replacement SS 28-29 hubcaps not fitting
