Re: Leg room in a 28 four door

I have a 29 Fordor. I'm 6` 4" and it was too crowded to be safe driving. I made myself some new brackets where the seat back fastens to the door post, unscrewed the seat base, and moved it back 3...

Re: Flooded Out

Re: best way to dry gas tank that is in car

I just cleaned a motorcycle gas tank. Used a pressure washer to get the crud out, worked good. Let it sit in the sun for a few hours, was completely dry.

There are two kinds of people who answer want ads, 1 I want what you have and I'm willing to pay at least close to what you're asking. 2 I want what you have, and I;m going to be mad if you don't...

Re: How to routinely clean engine?

Pressure wash it. Don't get too close. Put plastic over dist first. Start the car and get it fairly warm first. I've never had a problem, I imagine some will swallow their false teeth over it but...

Re: What's wrong in this picture?

Its not Syder's fault if some people like to sit on the wrong side of the car when driving. :)

Re: Balanced Carb

I have an original AirMaze. It collects a lot of dust and dirt. I adjust the GAV 1/4 turn in and then the car runs unchanged, no noticable decrease in gas mileage. Every time I clean the filter an...

Re: 31 coupe will not go over 40 mph

Check the throttle linkage, make sure the butterfly opens completely. Check timing, like it was said earlier too little info. All youre going to get are a bunch of basically worthless guesses,...

Re: purple ice by royal purple

If adding these do not give you the cooling performance you need, best to look into perhaps an issue with your system.

I'd say if these are needed, you already have an issue with your system....

If you happen to have an old belt around, cut it and put it on the pulleys. Measure the gap. bingo, you have your length.

Re: 62

I'm 6' 4" 210lbs 36" inseam. I've tried a pickup, its dangerous! Can't get my legs to cooperate in the confinement. My Fordor was very tight too. I moved the seat back, made a big difference. Was...

Re: Spark-Lever Posistion

Re: Water Pump Question

If there is rust on the water pump, there's rust in the cooling system. Make sure you run 50/50 coolant or at the least some rust inhibitor.

Re: Odd VIN

Does the car have an ID plate attached anywhere? Likely an assigned number but if so you'd think the owner would've stamped an ID plate or put the number somewhere on the car. The engine number was...

Re: Tire tubes and age.

As long as the stem to tube rubber looks good they'll be fine. A tube's job is to seal the air into the tire, not keep the tire from blowing. If they don't leak and stems are fine, you'll be fine....

Smile Re: Gas?

Treating engines that way, it will likely soon be you reporting the issues! :) Some people seem to get by, I'm not so lucky. I only use it in vehicles being driven often.

Re: Repair of Police (B) Head..

If you have experience gas welding and you have a piece that you would otherwise throw away, why not give this a try: First drill the crack ends. Take some old piston rings and break them in half....

Re: Gas?

Take a quart jar and fill it with E gas, put the lid on loosely, and set it on a shelf. In a month or so look at it. It will have collected moisture out of the air which will bond with the alcohol...

Re: tire pressure

I run 42 at least. Fordor so its heavier than most. Tires wear more evenly with the higher pressure, and better ride.

Yes, except a voltmeter AND an ammeter gives you the whole story. Or maybe I should say "the rest of the story" :)

Re: About Detonation ?

I have a stock head so my advice may or may not apply. You can feel the timing advance as well as hear it. On normal acceleration, as was already mentioned, you feel the power flatten out just before...
