Re: Rewiring my 40 random questions

If I was installing a new starter relay I would try getting one with the button to spin the starter.

Re: K R Wilson distributor/timing fixture

We got one last year at the museum I volunteer at. Managed to get it apart to replace the wires (they were broken and too short). The thing does work as far a turning the light on at the marks on...

Re: Fuel hoses

I recently went through this research. The “ normal “ hose is sae30R6 or R7. The good stuff is R9 or R14. The 14 is quality and long lasting but not for high pressure and was less $ than the R9.

Re: Trash Can Condenser price increase

I’ve looked at these for years with the intention of buying one (or two).
Question - is it for a certain type of distributor? Helmet, Crab, 8BA?

Re: Helmet distributor lubrication

I recently asked some experienced (older) mechanic friends about what grease I should use on a distributor. Their answer was “distributor grease “.
A good alternative may be disc brake caliper...

Re: Unbelievably easy transmission fix...

I had a similar experience with my 37 coupe. It’s like driving a different car.
It was one item among many that shows that the previous owner didn’t understand much about cars.

Re: Technical: Electrical- testing for solenoid or starter switch problem

Good to hear you found the problem.

My battery tested good. I also tried jumping with another battery so I’m pretty sure it’s not the battery in my case.
I’m planning to pull the starter again...

Re: Canadian guys lower their ‘41 Merc rear

My new to me 37 coupe came with the super long shackles on the front causing the axle to be right down on the bump stops. Not good.
I ended up building a spring spreader to remove them. I cut off...

Re: Technical: Electrical- testing for solenoid or starter switch problem

I’m also having the buzzing solenoid problem on my 37 coupe. Internet research says bad connections or low/bad battery.
Had the battery tested and cleaned all the connections but that didn’t fix...

Re: Differences between 37/38 and Standard/Deluxe

The lines of the club vs regular are quite a bit different. I'd prefer to club just to open up the options and use the car in more ways. I doubt I'll find a club so will end up with the great...

Differences between 37/38 and Standard/Deluxe

In my quest to find a 37/38 coupe of my own I keep running into details that cause me to question or not be able to identify what I'm looking at. Some of the differences I've been able to notice or...

Re: WTB 37 or 38 Club Coupe

I guess I should mention I’m looking for a driver. Not a show car but also not a big project.

Re: 1937 Ford Coupe with added Pick-up Bed - Was Ford first with this idea?

I didn’t realize it was a steel, factory thing. I always thought it was a homemade wood thing. Very cool. I’d be happy if I could just find a 37 coupe for sale that still has a flathead.

WTB 37 or 38 Club Coupe

Seriously looking for a 37/38 club coupe. I also like the regular coupe but the club coupe with back seat is a big bonus. Don't care for the beak nose of the 38 deluxe so 38 would need to be a...

Re: Oh Crap! I found another project...a '50 Club Coupe...am I nuts?

Exciting
It’s in about the same shape as my 50 Tudor sedan.
Check out Shoebox Central. Also the shoebox build on Puddins Fabshop utube channel.

Re: Will a Runtz voltage drop work on a clock?

Is it an original style clock?
I don’t have first hand experience but from what I understand the power to the clock just goes to turn the clock spring. It may work fine on 12 volts.

Re: possibly changing from woven brake linning

I wish I knew the answer but I have read the woven provide better braking, which is a good thing.
Do you know where to get the woven? We’re having brake problems on a 38 Tudor (as in almost no...
