turned out the real problem was the oil pan and mount for the starter. now my problem is installing new one piece oil pan and getting there rear seal in correctly to stop leak.

i want to remove and the reinstall the one piece oil pan on my 47 stake bed pickup. it has the original 59AB engine. I understand that the rear seal can be a problem. any tips out there?

i am in search of new tires. i have a 1947 staked ford truck, one ton. it has split rim wheels and 7.50-17,tube type tires.where can i get replacement tires?

Thank you for the tip on the small bracket. My truck did not have the bracket when I got it 6 years ago. I have gone thru 3 starters in the time I have had the truck and I put a new starter in today...

i think I have an after market housing for my starter , it is not cast but about 16 gauge metal that has been spot welded onto the oil pan. I assume misalignment caused the gear on the starter shaft...

i am not familiar with the bracket you reference. it is an 11 inch flywheel.

I have a 47 ford pickup with a flathead V8. I installed a carter electric fuel pump. Do I need a fuel regulator to reduce the pressure from 6 psi. It seems to run fine with no regulator. I live at...
