1939 Woody tailgate weather strips

Could some tell me which way the side rubber weather strips are fastened on the sides of the 39 Woody tailgate? There are 2 notches which I assume go at the top of the tailgate but I can't decide...

Ignition cable

I have an old repro ignition cable that has been on the car for over 35 years. It was new when installed & the car doesn't have a lot of miles on it. For the last 2 years I've been chasing a battery...

Window Channel

I am working on the slidding window for 39 Woodie. I am not excited about using the material I bought for the vertical strips as they give problems getting the window pull handle into lock position....

Window channel drain holes

I am replacing the window channels on a 39 station wagon rear door & would like to know the best method for putting the drain holes in & the lock holes in the side strips. Thanks.

I have a door latch that has been notched & I'm sure it wasn't that way originally. Does anyone know why it was notched?

That bumper is what the window rests on when it is lowered. Look inside the door for a resting place for it. It may need a slight crimp to hold it there.

This piece of wood was bought as an extra for our 39 Woodie. The piece is not made like our original is so it must go. It is mostly solid except for a slight bit of dry rot on the double humped end...

So far I'm 2 days in without charging the battery & it is holding at 6.24 volts. I have not been able to produce a drain on the battery.

I have not checked the ignition switch. I hope to work through to find the problem rather then start replacing things. Thanks for the hints.

The brake light switch will have to be checked again as well. I put a new one on 1 1/2 months ago. A panic stock pulled the old one apart.

I've tried the test light & meter between the cable & the mounting terminal & didn't see a light or a draw. I'm starting to wonder about the replacement cutout. More checks tomorrow I think. Thanks...
