Re: What is this collection of parts worth? (1946 NOS)

538197
The 46-48 sedans aren't bringing what they should around here. My 46 Fordor would bring $6-7k I think if I sold it in this area. The car runs and drives, has new brakes gas tank, ect. Project...

Re: '55 Ford car headlight swtich

Lamar, good for you. I've had my headlight switch out several times on my 42 and it seems each time I have to retrain myself!

Re: Installing a wiring harness

Most shops around here are time and materials on wiring. So assume a labor rate of at least $75 per hour and 20 hours you'd be at $1,500. I rewired my 42 Ford with a Carpenter kit and I'll have to...

Re: 1955 Ford Fairlane

537682
On Cathy's 55 Fairlane 3 of the front seat buttons were missing. I found some on Ebay but boy they weren't cheap. The tan ones are available if someone needs them. The packages had dates on...

Re: 1940 clutch parts

I ordered a clutch kit from them for my 42 Ford with a 59 AB in it and it's working good so far.

Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project

I found two 1943 license plate tags yesterday. Pennsylvania did not issue a full metal license plate in 1943 in an effort to conserve metal for the war effort. Put one the plate of the 42....

Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project

bssmnbll, I think you gave a great description of where the car is at this point. Not a show car but something a young kid would have had in 1960 or 1965. This one too has a 47-48 engine it (59 A-B)...

Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project

The 42 is running well and at this point pretty reliable. That day the speedometer needle stuck and pegged at one point at 100 MPH! Honestly, I've never lubricated it and was surprised it worked at...

Re: 47 front floorpan

I think they go in the four holes on the floor portion about an inch or so before the curve starts to the firewall. Get the seal kit also. I had to trim it to fit on my 42.

Here is a picture of the floorboard from my 42. Should be the same 42-48 with most 48's being made out of aluminum instead of steel.

Re: 2 wire versus 3 wire circuit breaker?

The H stands for headlamps and the A stands for AMP and B is battery to my knowledge. On my 42 all the other lights on the car were connected to the A circuit. 40 may be entirely different. The...

Re: ‘46 wiper control questions

Bruce, on my "1942 Ford Deluxe Coupe project thread" on 1-23-2023 there are some pictures that might help. Ford and Merc should be the same to my knowledge. My 46 Ford uses a King Seeley wiper motor...

Re: Shocks

There were two NOS front 40 shocks (or so marked) at the Hamburg NY swap meet Sunday. Saw Charlie NY there. He said to tell everybody hello.

Re: Shocks

Are your rear shocks marked F 745 by any chance? I bought a NOS one that I thought
would fit my 42 but was mis boxed. If it's the same and you need it it's available.

Re: 47 Ford - 3 on the Tree question (Clutch question)

O.K. either way. Newer vehicles have a switch that requires depressing the clutch in. From a pure safety standpoint, might be good to push the clutch in just in case you forgot to take it out of...

Re: 48 Ford Tudor Headlight Buckets

Should be the same 42-48. On the 48's if you wanted to be 100% correct may be made of aluminum where the previous ones were steel.
