Re: '28 coupe door check straps

This is my 28 tudor, same door as your 28 coupe. No side mount spare. 8" strap. Door swings out to 90 degrees and stops. Works well. Snyders says to use the 6" strap with side mount spare tire....

Re: 1929 CCPU Tail Light

Yeah, Joe is right. I was thinking AA trucks. Tail lights on pickups went both ways in 29.

Re: Different Model A Venturi

Looks like some sort of aftermarket venturi. Put it in a Zenith carburetor and see if it runs.

Re: (GAV) Not working??

Look up Tom Endy's article on cleaning internal Zenith passageways with a paper clip. Your GAV doesn't seem to respond to adjustments.

Re: Cowl lacing replacement style

The idea is to attach the lacing to the front bottom of the gas tank, pull as tight as you can, and then tighten with the threaded hook you have in front of the hood hinge. I've never used the...

Re: 30-31 Model A Wheels

I've never been to a parts swap that didn't have some Model A wheels. Easy to find.
Usually cheap, but you don't know if they run true or not.

Re: Any good tips to lining up body bolts?

Just one short and one long punch will probably work OK. Any hardware store should stock them. Sometimes an undersized bolt can be used to line up bolt holes. Insert the punch in the bolt hole and...

Re: Any good tips to lining up body bolts?

Leave body bolts already installed loose and use tapered punches to line up remaining body to frame holes. Tapered punches are a must have tool for lining up stubborn bolt holes.
