Re: Axle Quick fix seals which direction?

Forespeed, they will work in your application, but someone has already fitted a seal in that location. That is not the factory seal. You need to dig out what has been fitted already so you can fit...

Re: Axle Quick fix seals which direction?

Mis information above, sorry.

Obviously, the advantage of the Quick seals is that they can be fitted without having to strip the rear end assembly down. The seal in the second pic in the first...

1941 Pickup Cowl vent: A video from Mart.

With a distinct lack of fabricated or natural jeopardy, I take my cowl vent off and put it back on again. How do I come up with this stuff. Mercifully, it's not too long and in only one part.

Re: Axle Quick fix seals which direction?

Re: Lifting a 8ba engine

I use a load leveller and use 4 long bolts in the rearmost and frontmost two manifold bolt holes.

I lengthened the chains slightly so I can leave the dual 94s on the thickstun hi-rise in place.

Re: 1941 ford pickup quest.

Almost. You can make it work. The flange where it meets the cowl sides is angled on non pickup and 90 degrees to the fender on a pickup.

Other than that, it is the same, or at least will work. ...

Re: '36 Cabriolet with an "18-F" prefix

I don't know if anyone does actually know why Ford chose the letter F, or what it meant to them or stood for in Ford speak at the time.
My 21stud motor which came from a RHD car has an F in the...

Re: Pulling rear hub and axle shaft assembly on 50 woodie

Have you tried a slide hammer?

I am thinking you might be able to jack it out of there using the bolts that hold the retainer and backplate to the axle. Put two opposing bolts back in. Cut a piece...

Re: Symptoms of worn out sector shaft?

Yay, Bob. Glad you got it sorted out. At least now if and when you sell it, you can do so with confidence.

Re: Posting a video

I don't know if there is another way to do it but you can post a video to youtube. You can make it private, where the only people that can see it are those you send the link to.

Or you can make it...

Re: Replace Flathead with Y-Block?

Re top end oiling on the Y blocks. My T bird had no oil to the rockers on one side. The problem was worn cam bearings. New cam bearings were fitted and the oil problem was solved.

Re: 1943 Ford 4 spd truck tranmission- part ID

Could it have been used to try and stop grease leaking along the splines of the output? I have no knowledge of those transmissions, but Ford used heavy fibre washers at the ends of the rear axle, for...

Re: Symptoms of worn out sector shaft?

There is an element in your steering with a large amount of free play. After turning one way, the free play is at one end of the travel, and vice versa the other way.

The best bet would be to get...

Re: 36 Ford drag link orientation question

Ok, I'm a bit late to the party, but here is what I'd do.

Support the front axle on stands and remove both front wheels for better access. the weight of the vehicle needs to be on the axle.

Re: Bent Fuel Pump Push Rod

As the motor is an unknown entity to you, it is hard to say. I can say I accidentally bent one once by forgetting to take it out and rolling the block over. That may have happened to yours. I can't...

Re: '39 Ford Master Cylinder Adjustment

Re: 1940 Ford Brakes

The diagram shown from the green book could be misinterpretated. Because it shows the rear on the right and the front on the left, so you might think the left side of the car is being shown. But look...
